2022-2023 Officers

Mia Corso
President
Hello! My name is Mia Corso. I play the bass, am a rising senior, and I am your 2022-23 Orchestra President. I'm already a part of so many diverse communities and I'm so excited to get to lead our WHS orchestra program this year! When I'm not in the orchestra room, I'm participating in triathlons, WHS soccer, and cross country, and martial arts… just to name a few :) I can't wait to get to work with our amazing students to improve the program and I'm looking forward to another awesome year in orchestra!

Sidney Foster
Vice President
Hello! My name is Sidney Foster, and I play the viola as a part of the Westlake Orchestra. I will be a senior in the 2022-23 school year, and I’m looking forward to continuing as a member of the orchestra. I found my passion leading up to my sixth-grade year after trying out all of the instruments. I picked up the viola, ‘successfully’ played Twinkle Twinkle, and I knew it was the one, then and there. I’m very excited to finish high school as an officer, working with others to help improve the already fantastic orchestra that has been built and developed over time. Thanks for having me!

Elizabeth Person
Treasurer
My name’s Elizabeth Person and I’ll be the Orchestra Treasurer for the 2022-2023 school year. I love robotics, rock climbing, and Tchaikovsky. I’m the founder of the Westlake Orchestra Club (formerly known as the Gig Ensemble), a group of orchestra members who gather every Monday afternoon for music collaboration with the goal of finding more performance opportunities and a chance to play music we otherwise might miss out on in our respective orchestra classes (the club is open to all orchestra members regardless of high school year or skill level). In addition to playing music, I organize trips to the Ballet and Austin Symphony for small groups of the Westlake Orchestra Club. This year I would like to take this group to the next level, expanding it for multiple projects at the same time, and finding more chances to perform. I can’t wait to get to work with everybody this year, Go Chaps!

Natalie Yung
Historian
Hello, my name is Natalie Yung, and I am your historian! I will be a sophomore for the 2022-2023 school year, and I play the cello. Outside of orchestra, I swim competitively, participate in HOSA, and enjoy baking in my free time! I am so excited to work with the other officers to make orchestra even more amazing, and create a supportive environment for new orchestra members!

Joseph Zhang
