About Us
Located in Austin, TX, the Westlake High School Orchestra is a nationally recognized, award-winning orchestra with a focus on high-level performances, creativity, and community engagement.
There are four orchestras and one harp ensemble class at Westlake High School.
All incoming freshmen start in the Chamber Orchestra, and then audition for one of the three other ensembles - Symphony A, Symphony B, or Philharmonic Orchestra.
All harp students are a part of the harp ensemble class.
Students in the orchestra program participate in various competitions throughout the year, including auditioning for the All-Region and All-State Orchestra, UIL Solo and Ensemble, UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation Full Orchestra and String Orchestra, and the Texas State Solo and Ensemble.
Each year, The Symphony Orchestra collaborates with Alisa's Dance Academy to perform the Nutcracker Spectacular, seen by over 5000 people annually.
The Westlake High School Orchestra program consistently earns UIL Division I ratings and Sweepstakes awards for superior performances.
