Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35 has a rich and romantic history rooted in both classical tradition and Hollywood glamour. Composed in 1945, the concerto marked Korngold’s return to concert music after years of writing acclaimed film scores in Hollywood. Though initially met with skepticism due to its cinematic roots, the concerto has since become a beloved staple of the violin repertoire, praised for its rich harmonies, melodic warmth, and romantic grandeur.
